A person died early Sunday after being struck by multiple vehicles in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 at the Chestnut Street exit. The unidentified person was seen lying in the middle of the eastbound lanes in North Franklin Township near the interchange, prompting a tractor-trailer driver to call 911 and report the situation, the Washington County coroner's office said. The name of the victim was not immediately released by the coroner's office. It's also not known why the person was on the highway. South Strabane Township’s planning commission again tabled a vote on an ordinance regulating data centers. The seven-person commission, which only votes on whether or not to make recommendations to the board of supervisors, will meet again March 19. Solicitor Dennis Makel indicated at their Thursday meeting that the commission members should finally take the vote then. “I think we need to move on this this month,” Makel said.
