Shame on Reschenthaler

2 min read

U.S. Rep Guy Reschenthaler has introduced a bill to change the name of Dulles International Airport to Donald J. Trump International Airport, explaining that “as millions of domestic and international travelers fly through the airport, there is no better symbol of freedom, prosperity, and strength than hearing ‘Welcome to Trump International Airport’ as they land on American soil.”

I agree. Trump truly represents freedom, prosperity, and strength. Sexual offenders from around the world can arrive in the U.S. and feel free, knowing that even a person found by a jury to have committed sexual assault can be free from harsh judgement from narrow-minded people who believe that sexual assault is immoral.

Prosperity will be exemplified in the airport by solely using quality Trump products made in China. Thirsty? Beverages will be handled by Trump Water. Hungry? You can order high-quality beef from Trump Steaks. Actually, you might want to eat and drink prior to arriving at the airport, as both companies, as are many Trump businesses, are defunct due to bankruptcy.

Strength and bravery can be represented by services that cater to those who are afflicted with bone spurs and cannot comfortably walk around the airport, even if they are on their way to play golf or tennis. Plaques celebrating Trump’s strength and bravery can be prominently displayed. Last year, Trump addressed the New York Young Republican Club and said that he was praised for bravery by an unnamed general for taking part in a 2016 debate shortly after the “Access Hollywood” tape was released.

Shame on Reschenthaler. The congressman supports a man whose immorality should shock the conscience of anyone with a shred of decency. Call me old-fashioned, but sexual assault, multiple bankruptcies, and blatant disrespect for veterans are deal breakers for being president.

Or for being a dog catcher.
