What happened?

Regarding state Rep. Tim O’Neal’s op-ed in the Aug. 21 edition, “Will Josh Shapiro bend left to rise,” it’s another pathetic attack on our governor.

A few months ago, O’Neal, Republican House member Donal Cook, some other Republicans and Washington Mayor Jojo Burgess, stood on the steps of the State Capitol in Harrisburg and had a little crying party for the UPMC takeover of Washington Hospital, blaming Shapiro and Attorney General Michelle Henry for not closing the deal fast enough. But the merger was approved after the governor and his people followed the rules.

It is known that O’Neal served in the military, and at one time seemed to be a person who, although you may not agree with him on policy, was respectful. What changed the fact? Is it because he is in a leadership position in the House or what?

O’Neal should quit whining like Donald Trump and do his job with the dignity and respect it deserves. Shapiro is a very good and popular governor.
