Why was LSA money pulled from City Mission?

1 min read

Help me to understand why the women’s shelter at Washington’s City Mission, designated for the most vulnerable people in our community, will not be funded by money from the Local Share Account?

Why would a shelter, which counsels, feeds, and tends to the health and welfare of children and women – people who will then most likely become productive, giving members of society – not be worth our investment?

Help me to understand what to say to our young people who don’t want to vote because the government is not responsive to the needs of the people?

Help me to understand why I don’t feel proud to be a Washington County citizen when I read this information?

I need help to understand these decisions.

The Rev. Barbara M. Bailey

Bailey is a retired elder with the United Methodist Church.
