Delaying answers about the Trump assassination attempt?

2 min read

It has been almost two weeks since the assassination attempt on Donald Trump in Butler County. We know who the deranged young man was who did the shooting. We know all about who was injured and killed. We are shocked that such an enormous breach of security occurred. How could this have happened? We still don’t know, and judging from Monday’s U.S. House hearing, there are a lot of other very important people who don’t know either.

There is an investigation we are told, and a forthcoming report that will be released in 60 days. Are you kidding me? To me, this mess comes down to three simple questions: Who was supposed to secure the roof? Why didn’t they? And who is their boss?

The Secret Service is really dancing around this case of attempted assassination that, in this instance, resulted in a homicide and injuries to three people, one quite possibly a future president of the United States. It certainly looks like the FBI and the Secret Service have major problems with their communication system. The shooter was on their radar 30 minutes before the shooting, citizens reported him. If it wasn’t for them, it is questionable if he would have been noticed at all.

Now that the Secret Service director has resigned and someone else has to step in, there is more reason for delay. Is this a case where the tactic is to delay, delay, delay and it goes away? At this point, that’s what it looks like to a lot of us.
