Canonsburg deserves federal money
Thank you, Observer-Reporter, for the news in two recent articles.
In one article, the federal government announced $83 million being put toward air quality monitoring. In another article, it was reported that the federal government announced $4 billion for capping gas and oil wells spewing methane, of which Pennsylvania has the most by far, and could receive around $400 million.
In my opinion, Canonsburg deserves the lion’s share of this money, since Canonsburg has been used and abused since World War II by the federal government and other industries in the name of protecting our country and economy.
However, Canonsburg needs to go to war for this grant money and make our case for real reparations for cleaner air, water, and soil, the essential needs for a healthy life, and especially for the children, who will be living, working, eating, learning and playing in our community.
All the local environmental nonprofits need to join forces and write undisputable grants for these indispensable life-sustaining needs for quality air, water, and soil.
