Spiegler deserves thanks for remembrance of pet
Oren Spiegler deserves thanks for his lovely op-ed on losing his dog Finnegan, which appeared in the Friday edition of the Observer-Reporter.
It’s a pleasure to read how good and compassionate an animal owner treats his pets instead of reading about the abundance of horrible abuse that so many animals suffer in the wrong hands.
I come from a family of veterinarians and have seen some terrible cases enter our animal hospital in Pittsburgh. However, when you meet people who cherish and love their animals as family members, it is uplifting and reminds us that there is more good than bad in our world.
Spiegler’s veterinarian was correct when he said that veterinarians do not get accustomed to euthanizing animals. It saddens them also.
Let us hope to be reunited with all our animals that have passed away. What a joy that would be.
