As an extremely proud retired employee of the Western Center, the photo in the Tuesday, March 5 edition of the Observer-Reporter on page 10 is not Southpointe in 2003. It’s one taken in 1996 of our administration building.

Unfortunately the building was razed, making way for the additional commercial structures that now encompass the entire 609 acres of what was not only a place to work but also a home for our family members who lived, worked and thrived at our facility.

Let’s not forget the history of Western Center by casually referring to our facility as being Southpointe in 2003.
