Saddened by the end of Town Hall South

1 min read

I am saddened that last week’s Town Hall South with Henry Winkler is the end of the organization’s exemplary lecture series.

Begun in 1969, the program provided inspiring talks from people in all walks in life, from the astronaut James Lovell, historians Doris Kearns Goodwin and Jon Meacham, to notable news commentators, authors, musicians, humorists and scientists.

This series consistently provided thoughtful, knowledgeable speakers in a forum that promoted enjoyment and respect, a far cry from the often bombastic rhetoric we see today.

Thank you to all the volunteers of Town Hall South for a job well done.
