LETTER: The blame game

1 min read

OK, we can all stop trying to figure out who is to blame for former President Trump winning the presidency once again.

Kamala Harris checked all the boxes that ensured her loss. She is a dark-skinned, highly-educated woman with loads of legal experience who is married to a Jewish person.

It had nothing to do with the economy, because the United States has the best economy in the world. While inflation may be a bit high, so are wages. Sure, it would have benefited her to have more time to conduct a campaign, but she and her supporters did a remarkable job anyway.

We have proven that hatred, racism, misogyny, antisemitism are fed by fear and these “isms” and others are alive and well in the U.S. This was a test of our collective ability to think critically and a test of our collective IQ.

Guess what? We failed.
