LETTER: The Trump Commandments
The letter, “Trump supports biblical standards,” which appeared in the Sept. 23 edition, says “Fundamentalist Christians support Trump because he is the candidate who most closely supports biblical standards.”
If this is true, perhaps we can expect a second Trump term to include a rewriting of the Bible to include The Trump Commandments:
=Taketh the Lord’s name in vain and blaspheme before the innocent.
-Belittle the meek, those with disabilities and women thy have assaulted.
-Blessed are the boastfully rich who inherit their wealth and stiff their workers.
-Overvalue thy properties for lenders and undervalue them for collectors of tax.
-Remember that the Lord provideth female begetting organs for men of fame or wealth to grab at will.
-Covet thy neighbor’s wife and thine own offspring.
-Falsify thy business records to conceal thy lust from family and voters.
-Separate the gullible from their money and anoint them with diplomas of no value.
-Collect money for the Lord’s charities, but place it in thy own pocket.
-Serve not thy country, as sacrifice is for suckers.
-If thy lose a contest, refuse to honor the victor or accept defeat. Invent fraud to save thy face.
-Abuseth the trust of thy followers and lead them into incarceration.
-When facing justice for thy evil acts, cast thy accusers as evil and promise retribution.
-If a plague shall arise, declare it a hoax and ignore experts bearing lifesaving solutions.
-Remember that those who threaten people of different faiths or skin colors are fine people themselves.
-Thou shalt not welcome strangers as they are rapists, thieves and murderers who eat family pets.
-Thou shalt not render aid to friends in need. Honor tyrants and abandon those seeking freedom.
-Burden not thyself with town criers who share facts, for they are the enemies of the people.
-Speak not the truth, for it shall expose thy sins.
Despite what Trump-promoting fundamentalists might say, I find these commandments to be entirely un-Christian. I’ll be sticking with the original 10.
