LETTER: Thanks for the memories
After reading Sunday’s article on the Brownson House, I am reminded that the only constant in life is change.
First, there are no more movie theaters in Washington. Then we are informed that the Washington Mall will be torn down, followed by the Brownson House. Just like the generations before me, my childhood is disappearing. That is a very sobering thought.
I grew up in the Washington Mall. In its glory days that mall hopped. It was always busy and the place to be. Now it’s an empty shell. Gone are Kmart, Route 19 Bowl, the Murtland Avenue Pizza Hut and McDonald’s. I never thought I’d see the day.
To the Washington of my youth and teenage years, I say a very heart-wrenching goodbye. Thank you for all the great memories!
