As if leasing two SUVs didn’t raise legitimate questions to the taxpayers of Washington County, the minority commissioner, Larry Maggi, whom I hold in the highest regard, has cited his own concerns about accountability for the use of these vehicles.

Plus, there is a greater concern about the fact that Maggi was not informed in advance of this leasing purchase.

Combined, these two issues alone should make constituents question how our county is functioning at the top where the buck always stops.

I certainly hope these new SUVs run better than we are witnessing in the majority commissioners’ offices.
