LETTER: Loyalty to a megalomaniac
One day.
That’s how long it took for a Florida MAGA rioter/previously convicted felon to get arrested again. He had been pardoned along with 1,500 or so others by fellow convicted felon Donald Trump.
Isn’t it cute how they stick together?
This time, the Florida felon was busted on gun charges, barely getting a taste of freedom after being jailed for his participation in the Jan. 6th coup attempt, er, tourist event.
However, an Idaho woman, dubbed the “MAGA Granny,” has since repented for her actions on that day and refused Trump’s pardon.
“We were wrong that day,” she admitted. Maybe she should be called the “Minority Mama”, i.e., one of the few with a conscience and sense of reality.
So will the Florida guy get another pardon?
I’m guessing his best hope is to place a hand on a Trump Bible and take an oath to behave as he takes a swig of Trump wine from a Trump shot glass.
Because in today’s America, loyalty to one megalomaniac counts more than loyalty to a Constitution that more than 1 million have fought and died to preserve.
