LETTER: Make America great again

1 min read

America was at its greatest when it stood beside our allies in France in World War I.

America was at its greatest when it stood beside our allies in Africa, Asia and Europe in World War II.

America is not great as it abandons Ukraine.

America was at its greatest when Woodrow Wilson proclaimed the 14 Points during WWI; when Douglas MacArthur oversaw Japan after WWII, and when the Marshall Plan underwrote the recovery after WWII.

America is not great when it curtails foreign aid and creates tariff walls to disrupt trade.

America was great when it opened its doors to the teeming masses of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

America is not great when it bars destitute immigrants from Central America in the 21st century.
