LETTER: A centennial of community impact
This year, the United Way of Washington County celebrates an extraordinary milestone: 100 years of service, compassion, and community impact.
Since its beginnings as the Community Chest in 1925, our local United Way has united people, resources, and organizations to address the most pressing needs of our community. Over the past century, our local, independent United Way and a member of United Way Worldwide, has supported critical initiatives in education, financial stability, and health right here in Washington County. From the creation of the PA 211 Southwest Helpline, which connects thousands of residents to vital services, to our Community Impact Fund and the recently created Care United Program, we are tackling food insecurity, providing veteran support, and aiding the success of youth education. The United Way of Washington County has been a cornerstone of hope for countless families.
What makes this milestone so meaningful is not just its rich history but its enduring commitment to the future. The United Way of Washington County’s collaborative approach in engaging local nonprofits, businesses, volunteers, and donors ensures that every dollar raised and every hour volunteered strengthens Washington County for generations to come.
As we celebrate this centennial, please join us in honoring this legacy by supporting the United Way of Washington County through donations, volunteering, and/or advocacy by visiting: www.unitedwaywashco.org. Together, we can help shape the next 100 years of impact.
