LETTER: Close but no cigar

Close but no cigar

Oren, Oren, Oren (Spiegler). You almost did so well. Praising Donald Trump in your Oct. 16 letter to the editor must have been incredibly difficult for you but extremely astute and rare among hard-core Democrats these days. And you almost pulled it off, but you just couldn’t help yourself with your last paragraph.

He has no war with transgenders. He only wants to be fair to females participating in female sports (not such a radical idea). No war against universities unless they openly and blatantly promote radical, one-sided viewpoints that can easily be interpreted as divisive, if not condoning violence (see “Canceling of the American Mind,” by Greg Lukianoff and Rikki Schlott).

And as for going after those he feels have wronged him, look no further than the former administration for a textbook example of that. And as for minority groups, his effort to clean up crime-ridden cities (which have resulted in finding dozens of missing children) can only serve to improve the lives of the residents in those areas which are typically minorities.

Thanks for being a reasonable Democrat (almost an oxymoron), but next time try to finish without the needless pontificating.
