LETTER: Making America great

1 min read

On Sept. 15, I started my day as I do every day, reading the Observer-Reporter. In it, there was an article, “Tom Hanks is canceled and Donald Trump applauds.” The article stated that Trump and his MAGA followers are telling Americans what we can watch on TV, what mascot sports teams should feature, and so on.

As I see it, the woke movement told us we can’t have a sports team called the Washington Redskins or a mascot dressed as a Native American. We can’t have a man of color on a package of Uncle Ben’s rice or a woman of color on a bottle of syrup. And one more massive change the woke movement is trying to change: the definition of man and woman.

As I, and all of the millions of voters who put Donald Trump back in office see it, the president is simply defending everything that the majority of Americans represent and believe is what makes America great, and has made it great since its founding.
