OP-ED: The Democratic Party is close to irrelevance
If there has ever been a clear sign that the Democratic Party is hurtling toward irrelevance, it’s their current rallying cry: “Resist.”
Resist what, exactly? Resist change? Resist economic improvement? Resist securing our borders? Resist restoring the power of our military? Resist affordable energy, food, and lower inflation? What is it that they stand for, other than hatred of President Trump and blind opposition to a thriving America?
By clinging to “resist” – without offering a single workable solution – Democrats are openly telling the American people they have no interest in fixing the colossal failures of the Biden presidency. With Biden’s approval ratings at rock bottom, and Congress equally reviled, running on “more of the same” is nothing short of political suicide.
On Tuesday night, Trump delivered a bold, triumphant vision for American renewal. He made it clear: America is back – and ready to leave the years of radical leftist mismanagement behind.
Trump laid out his plan to drain the swamp and fight for the hardworking Americans who have been ignored and betrayed for too long – the farmers, factory workers, shopkeepers, service workers, professionals, parents, students, and everyday citizens who built this country and deserve a government that works for them, not against them. Among the highlights:
– Trump promised a new era of tax cuts for all Americans and vowed to reignite the greatest economic boom in history – just like he did in his first term. That means slashing job-killing regulations, reducing taxes and bringing manufacturing back to American soil. The results are already starting, with major manufacturers and tech companies pledging billions in new investments right here at home.
– Trump declared that America’s sovereignty will no longer be for sale. The days of open borders, human trafficking highways, and drug cartels crossing our borders with impunity are over. With Tom Homan already leading the charge, illegal crossings have plummeted, cartels are in retreat, and the deportation of dangerous illegals is underway. Biden claimed he couldn’t fix the border without new laws – Trump has proven that all we needed was a new president willing to act.
– Trump made it clear: America is back on the road to energy dominance. That means restarting pipelines, slashing approval red tape, and ending the reckless, expensive obsession with the Green New Deal – a policy disaster that’s driven up costs, destroyed jobs, and weakened our energy security. Under Trump, affordable, reliable energy will once again power our economy.
– America has every right – and every responsibility – to protect itself from predatory foreign trade practices. For too long, we’ve run massive trade deficits while other nations – especially China – game the system, flood our markets, and hollow out our industries. Trump understands tariffs aren’t just trade tools – they’re essential to preserving our economy and protecting the dollar. Democrats may join forces with globalists, but Trump stands with American workers.
– Trump didn’t mince words on Ukraine. After spending hundreds of billions in taxpayer dollars, with no clear strategy and no end in sight, Democrats seem perfectly content to let the war drag on indefinitely – enriching cronies and fueling corruption on both sides of the ocean. When Trump asked if Democrats really want this war to last five more years, Elizabeth Warren’s applause said it all – proof that their priority isn’t peace, but perpetuating the gravy train.
– Trump’s new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is already exposing the staggering waste, fraud, and bloat that have become standard operating procedure under Democratic rule. From non-existent departments to people over 200 years old still collecting Social Security checks, the rot runs deep. The left howls in protest at the idea of government employees actually showing up to work – they would rather preserve their bloated bureaucracy than serve the American taxpayer. Trump isn’t just trimming the fat – he’s going after the whole corrupt system.
Trump closed with a simple, powerful truth: There’s no working with today’s Democratic Party. They’ve become a lifeless shell, devoid of ideas, driven only by rage, resentment, and a desperate grip on power. They offer no solutions – just obstruction. Trump is tearing off the mask, exposing the corruption, and leading the fight to restore a government of, by, and for the American people.
For the first time in years, America has a clear vision and a confident direction. The days of decline are over. America is back.
