Softball: Vulcans hit 9 home runs in sweep of Edinboro

California hit nine home runs in a doubleheader sweep of Edinboro, 20-4 and 7-0, in PSAC play Friday at Lilley Field.

Shelby Lia, Natalya Smarra and Waynesburg graduate Breanna Morris each homered twice to lead the Vulcans (3-1, 17-1). Cal scored 15 of its 20 runs in the opener on six home runs, including five in the second inning, when the Vulcans twice hit back-to-back homers in the inning.

Lindsay Reicoff hit a home run for Cal in the opener, and Haley Bashada had a pinch-hit grand slam. In the second game, Alex Sagl was 3-for-4 with a three-run homer.

Edinboro is 0-2, 3-13, and has lost nine in a row.
