Girls Softball: Washington edges Beth-Center

Natalie Gloady’s RBI single in the bottom of the fifth inning lifted Washington to a 2-1 victory over Beth-Center in a Section 2-AA softball game.

Taylor Ellis picked up the win, allowing just two hits for Washington (1-2, 1-2).

Abby Gustovich pitched a three-hitter, while Alexandria Tippy doubled for Beth-Center (1-3, 1-4).

• Reagan Rush had six hits, including a pair of homers, as Jefferson-Morgan won a wild, 20-4, Section 2-A game against California, scoring nine runs in the top of the seventh.

Winning pitcher Maddie Ludrosky had three hits and struck out 17, while Kiersten Stonekind also had three hits in a 19-hit attack for Jeff-Morgan (2-2, 3-2).

Losing pitcher Tina Puhnaty doubled for California (1-3, 1-3), while Tristan Lint had three hits.
