1 min read

Chuck Gasti’s bases-loaded single scored pinch-runner Chris Mitko and capped California University’s two-run bottom of the ninth inning Monday as the Vulcans rallied to defeat No. 20-ranked Seton Hill 3-2 in a non-conference game Monday at Consol Energy Park.

Cal (21-7) trailed 2-1 entering the ninth. The Vulcans tied the score when Matt Peters’ single scored Kyle Petty, who started the inning with a single. Two batters later, Gasti delivered his one-out, game-winning single to right field.

Kyle Mann was the winning pitcher with one scoreless inning of relief. Starter Jack Dennis gave up two unearned runs in eight innings.

Seton Hill’s record is 25-8.
