Trinity’s West wins title at North Coast Classic

Trinity High School junior Robert West won the 195-pound championship Saturday at the North Coast Classic in Independence, Ohio.

West won seven consecutive bouts by fall before defeating Kyle Kermiller of Perry (Ohio) in double overtime to win his weight class for the second consecutive year.

The Hillers, who placed seventh out of 24 teams in the team standings, had six wrestlers place, including only one senior. Mike Kalosky was third at 106, Cameron Reynolds was third at 120, senior Tristan Buxton was fourth at 113, Justin Ritter placed fourth at 160 and Ben Johnson was eighth at 182. Brunswick (Ohio) won the team title.
