1 min read

The California University of Pennsylvania women’s basketball team will open its 2013-14 schedule with an exhibition game Oct. 30 against Big East champion and NCAA Division I semifinalist Notre Dame. No time has been set for the game, but it will be played in South Bend, Ind.

The Vulcans will continue their exhibition schedule with a Nov. 3 game at Pitt, followed by a home game against Millersville (Nov. 9) and an away game at Fairmont State (Nov. 12).

Corey Fuller fired a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts as Bull International defeated Bethel Park, 7-1, in a Southwest Pa. Colt game.

Logan Bliets and Dalton Wildman had two hits each for Bull International (10-1).

The Texas Rangers have signed Manny Ramirez to minor league contract.

Ramirez spent three months playing in Taiwan for the Rhinos before leaving the team on June 20. The Rangers made the announcement Wednesday. Ramirez hit .352 with eight homers and 43 RBIs for the Rhinos. The team tried to keep the 12-time All-Star, but the 41-year-old slugger wanted to return to his family in New York.
