Penguins re-sign Jeffrey
The Penguins brought back free-agent forward Dustin Jeffrey Thursday, signing the 25-year-old to a cap friendly, one-year contract worth $625,000.
Jeffrey had three goals and six points in 24 games last season. He had four goals and two assists in 2011-12, when he played in 26 games.
With the loss of forwards Matt Cooke, Jarome Iginla, Brenden Morrow and Tyler Kennedy, Jeffrey could see his role increase in 2013-14.
Two years removed from a torn ACL, Jeffrey has insisted he’s 100 percent healthy and ready to take on a greater role.
