1 min read

BROOKVILLE – Brian Fisher scattered six hits and did not walk a batter as California defeated Elk County Catholic, 8-0, in the opening round of the PIAA Class A high school boys baseball playoffs.

Josh Luko came a home run away from hitting for the cycle with a triple, double and single, while Michael Luketich had a pair of triples for the Trojans, who had 15 hits. Joe DeFranco added three singles.

Fisher, who had just one strikeout on the mound, also had two hits.

California advances to face Our Lady of Sacred Heart, a 1-0 winner over Cocharanton Tuesday, in Thursday’s quarterfinal round. The site and time of that game have yet to be determined.
