Portis signs with CFL’s Argonauts
Former California University quarterback Josh Portis has signed a contract with the Toronto Argonauts of the Candadian Football League.
Portis was recently waived by the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks after news surfaced of his arrest last month for driving under the influence.
Portis spent two seasons as the starting quarterback at California and signed with Seattle as an undrafted free agent in 2011.
He made the active roster as a rookie, but Seattle kept only two quarterbacks last season, and Portis spent much of the year on the practice squad before being released in November.
He was re-signed by Seattle in early April after the Seahawks traded backup quarterback Matt Flynn to Oakland.
