Weather postpones PIAA playoffs

Poor weather conditions forced the postponement of several PIAA baseball and softball playoff games Thursday, including three featuring local teams.

The California High School baseball team’s PIAA Class A quarterfinal against Our Lady of Sacred Heart will now be played today at noon at Fox Chapel High School.

In softball action, Carmichaels will face Southern Huntingdon at 3 p.m. in the PIAA Class A quarterfinals. The site remains Everett High School.

Canon-McMillan will play North Allegheny – a rematch of the WPIAL Class AAAA softball final – today at 12:30 p.m. at Woodland Hills High School.

Winners of the quarterfinal round advance to Monday’s semifinals.
