Six local wrestlers invited to Classic

Six local wrestlers, including two state champions from Canon-McMillan, will compete in the Pittsburgh Wrestling Classic Sunday at Pitt’s Fitzgerald Fieldhouse.

Connor Schram, who won the Class AAA 126-pound title, and Cody Wiercioch, who won his third state title in four seasons, this one at 170, will compete on the Pennsylvania Team that wrestles the United States at 6 p.m.

Seth Carr of South Fayette, who was a state runner-up at 113 pounds in Class AA; Dustin Conti of Jefferson-Morgan, who finished third at 170; Garrett Vulcano of Chartiers-Houston, a state runnerup at 195 pounds; and Angelo Broglia of Canon-McMillan, who was a WPIAL silver medalist and state qualifier, will compete on the WPIAL Team that wrestles Virginia at 4 p.m.
