1 min read

Mike Fatigante was hired as head coach of McGuffey’s boys basketball team Thursday night. He replaces Greg Papson, who stepped down at the end of February.

Fatigante has been an assistant men’s basketball coach at Waynesburg University for the past three seasons. Before that, he was an assistant for McGuffey’s baseball team and the junior varsity golf coach. Fatigante, a 2008 graduate of Mt. Union College, is a physical education teach at McGuffey.

Fatigante is a 2004 graduate of Avonworth High School and was a four-year member of Mt. Union’s men’s basketball team, earning two letters and serving as team captain.

Papson had been McGuffey’s coach for the past five years but resigned to spend more time with his wife and two young kids.

McGuffey was 9-13 this past season, 2-10 in Section 5-AAA.
