Waynesburg wins ECAC South baseball title

Waynesburg University won its first ECAC South baseball championship Saturday, defeating host McDaniel College, 5-2.

Tim Chilcothe had an RBI double in a two-run second inning, and Nick Berdine added an RBI double in a two-run fifth for the Yellow Jackets (22-18).

Anthony Longo pitched five shutout innings to earn the victory, while Brian Resnik went the final four innings to earn a save.

Waynesburg center fielder Clay Roman, a Bentworth graduate, was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.
