Peters Twp in lacrosse finals

Allison Hurley had a hat trick and three assists, Sarah Bootman scored two goals and contributed two assists, and the Peters Township girls lacrosse team advanced to the WPIAL Division I championship game with a 9-7 win over Pine-Richland in the semifinal round Tuesday at North Hills High School.

The win is the third straight for Peters Township (16-2) over Pine-Richland, including the Division I final a season ago.

Angelo Esposito earned the win in goal.

Peters Township will play either Shady Side Academy or Mt. Lebanon Thursday at 8 p.m. at North Hills. The Indians will be trying for their fifth WPIAL title and second straight.
