PT lacrosse downs Penn Manor

1 min read

GREENSBURG – For Peters Township, revenge is best served on a lacrosse field.

The Indians rallied from a 9-5 halftime deficit to take a 17-15 victory over Penn Manor, the third seed from District 3, in the first round of the PIAA Division I lacrosse playoffs at Hempfield Wednesday afternoon.

The win avenges a loss to Penn Manor in last season’s first round of the state playoffs. It also sends the Indians (18-2) into the quarterfinals against State College, which defeated Shady Side Academy yesterday.

Hannah Wilcox led the Indians with five goals and two assists. Allison Hurley scored three times and had two assists. Gina Vilsack had three goals.

Caitlin Carey scored twice and contributed three assists, Alyse Kilberg had two goals, and Sarah Bootman notched two goals and added an assist.
