PT falls to McKeesport in high-scoring first-round game

McKEESPORT – Mikell Moore rushed for 228 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries to lead McKeesport to a 54-28 victory over visiting Peters Township in a Class AAAA first-round game Friday night.

McKeesport broke the game open by outscoring PT 34-14 in the second quarter for a 40-22 lead at halftime.

Tim Swoope, who completed 19 of 34 passes for 246 yards, threw three short TD passes to Max Augenstein for PT (5-5), covering 1, 1 and 2 yards. Michael Erenberg caught five passes for 118 yards.

Marcus Ubinger scored the Indians’ first touchdown on a 14-yard run. Augenstein and Swoope connected on a two-point conversion that gave PT an early 8-6 lead.

David Queen rushed for two touchdown and threw a 25-yard TD pass for McKeesport.
