Gillaspie scores 4 times as Monessen cruises
Clintell Gillaspie rambled for four touchdowns and outgained the visiting Crusaders as Monessen rolled to a 40-6 victory over Bishop Canevin in a Class A Black Hills Conference matchup.
Gillaspie carried only six times, but gained 136 yards, scoring on runs of 11, 23, 43 and 44 yards to spark Monessen (4-1, 4-1). He also had three two-point conversions to account for 30 of his team’s points.
Justice Rawlins had a 2-yard touchdown run and a two-point conversion and Javon Brown gained 68 yards on six carries for the Greyhounds, who raced to a 32-0 halftime lead.
Bishop Canevin (1-4, 2-4), which had only 135 total yards, averted a shutout late in the game on Reed Relosky’s 13-yard pass to Kellan Gustine.
