Peters Township graduate Abby Cunningham drove in the go-ahead run, then forced a bad throw on a steal attempt to allow a teammate to score, as Washington & Jefferson won the opening game of a Presidents’ Athletic Conference doubleheader over Grove City, 2-0. The Presidents completed the sweep with an 8-6 win.

Cunningham had an RBI-double in the second game to tie the score at 5-5. Madison Rotto put the Presidents (8-2, 14-6) ahead to stay with a two-run single.

Krista McCartney threw a four-hit shutout in the opener.

Grove City is 0-10, 4-17.
