Rebellion sign former UCLA standout

The Pennsylvania Rebellion have signed former UCLA standout B.B. Bates to her first professional contract.
Bates, Victorville, Calif., native is tied for third all-time in home runs at UCLA, fourth in career RBI and total bases and fifth in runs.
“B.B. Bates was not only a great player for UCLA, but she is one of the best infielders/outfielders in the country,” Rebellion manager Rick Bertagnolli said. “The Rebellion couldn’t be more excited that she’s back playing fastpitch softball.”
As a senior, Bates posted the second-best single-season numbers in Bruins history for home runs (25) and RBI (74). She also became the first UCLA player to hit two home runs in three consecutive games. The All-American put up staggering numbers for the Bruins in her last season and was team MVP.
In Bates’ freshman season (2010), she was a member of the UCLA team that won the College World Series.
