Kalamar’s contract sold to Diamondbacks
The Washington Wild Things announced Tuesday they have sold the contract of outfielder Scott Kalamar to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Kalamar is the fourth Wild Things player to have had his rights sold to Arizona in 2014, joining Stewart Ijames, Troy Marks and Al Yevoli.
Kalamar, who signed with Washington midway through the 2013 season as a rookie out of Seton Hall University, had a breakout year in his second season in the Frontier League, batting .300 with nine home runs, 48 RBI and 17 stolen bases in 87 games. He led the Wild Things with 26 doubles.
