ECAC bids for W&J and ’Jackets
The Washington & Jefferson College women’s basketball team was denied an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III with its loss to Thomas More Saturday in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference finals.
And despite a 20-8 record, the Presidents failed to receive an at-large bid for the NCAA tournament as well.
But Monday, the ECAC extended a bid to the Presidents to extend their season and W&J accepted, marking the second consecutive ECAC tounament appearance for the Presidents.
The Waynesburg University men’s basketball team also accepted an ECAC bid, marking the first time since the 1997-98 season the Yellow Jackets have been selected for postseason play.
