Colin Johnston, a sixth-year senior at West Virginia University, has qualified for the NCAA Wrestling Championships at 141 pounds.

Johnston, who received an extra year of eligibility because of missing a season with a shoulder injury, entered the Big 12 tournament as the No. 1 seed at 141 but dropped his first two matches. He received an at-large bid to compete in the NCAAs, which get under way Thursday, March 20.

Johnston, a four-year starter and 2006 state champion at Canon-McMillan High School, has a 27-8 record with nine pins. He is ranked 24th in the bracket. No. 1 is Zain Retherford of Penn State.
