Baseball: C-M wins low-scoring opener

Andrew Bane drove in two runs with a two-out single in the bottom of the sixth inning to lift Canon-McMillan to a 3-1 victory over Paramus Catholic (N.J.) Friday in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Tiegan Piechnick had a doube to support winning pitcher Mike Mish, who threw three innings of scoreless relief for the Big Macs (1-0). Mish, Jake Trainor and Kevin Rush combined on a two-hitter.

Losing pitcher Anthony Budock struck out seven.
