1 min read

Bianca Mejia, a 25-year-old shortstop who played for the New York-New Jersey Comets last season, was signed by the Pennsylvania Rebellion of the National Pro Fastpitch softball league Monday.

Mejia graduated in 2011 from Long Island University, where she was the Northeast Conference Player of the Year, made first team and led the conference in batting average (.392), slugging percentage (.731) and on-base percentage (.485) as a junior.

Mejia was originally signed by the NPF’s Tennessee Diamonds, which moved to Charlotte in 2012 and New York-New Jersey last season. Mejia played with the Comets last year and hit .260 with 22 RBI.
