Softball: Tilghman pitches Charleroi over Wash High

Winning pitcher Jen Tilghman struck out 10 and Charleroi scored the go-ahead run in the fifth inning during a 5-2 victory over visiting Washington in a non-section game Tuesday.

Tilghman allowed only four hits and was supported by the Cougars’ 12-hit attack. Jordan Swarmer tripled and drove in two runs, and Sydney Toth went 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Cougars, who broke a 2-2 tie with a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth.

Taylor Bainer tripled for Wash High, and Alanna Ammons and Shannon Crumrine each had a double.
