Girl soccer: C-H doubles fun against Geibel
It was a two-goal kind of night at Chartiers-Houston.
Erin James and Alyson Ferrari and Haley Williamson each scored two goals Wednesday as C-H pulled away and defeated Geibel 6-2 in Section 2-A.
The Bucs (7-5, 10-7) led 3-1 at halftime and Williamson helped C-H widen its lead by scoring both of her goals in the second half.
Geibel (3-9-1, 4-9-1) received two goals from Karly Judy.
• Visiting South Park snapped South Fayette’s six-game winning streak by defeating the Lions 3-0 in a matchup of the top two teams in Section 5-AA.
South Park leads the section and 12-0 and is 15-0-1 overall. South Fayette fell to 10-2, 12-4.
• Bentworth assured itself of third place in Section 2-A by defeating Beth-Center 8-0.
Miranda VanKirk scored three goals to lead the Bearcats (10-4, 10-7) Sara Maniecki contributed two goals, and Bea Kossel, Matty Fowler and Madison Jones each tallied one goal.
Goalkeepers Jeanna Brewer and Danielle Gondak combined for Bentworth’s 10th shutout.
