Welch, Brown lead B-C past Avella, into playoffs
Anthony Welsh rushed for 132 yards and three touchdowns on just six carries, while Nico Brown added 130 yards and three scores on six attempts Friday night, as Beth-Center took a 58-0 lead and cruised to a 70-7 Tri-County South victory over Avella.
Beth-Center (6-0, 7-0), which clinched a playoff spot in the Tri-County South with the victory, rushed for 448 yards in the game, also getting 78 yards and two touchdowns on the ground from Johnny Sofran.
Jason Stay and Frank Dreucci also scored for the Bulldogs.
Tyler Fraysier caught a touchdown pass from Santino Parris, who completed 10 of 20 passes for 121 yards, for the Eagles (2-4, 3-4), who saw their playoff hopes put on life support with the loss.
