Lions ‘Sharp’ in win over Quaker Valley

Century Conference champion South Fayette got three touchdown passes from Brett Brumbaugh and 213 yards and a pair of scores on the ground from Hunter Hayes to run its winning streak to 25 games with a 40-21 conference win over Quaker Valley Friday night.

Brumbaugh completed 22 of 36 passes for 252 yards and three scores – to Nick Ponkivar, Ryan Schmider and Logan Sharp – and Hayes scored on runs of 2 and 9 yards for the Lions (9-0, 9-0).

Sharp led South Fayette, which led just 21-14 at the half, with six receptions for 62 yards.

Dane Jackson threw for 131 yards and rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries for Quaker Valley (5-4, 5-4), which was knocked out of the playoffs with the loss and Steel Valley’s 49-7 win over South Allegheny.
