MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) – West Virginia University cornerback Daryl Worley has been arrested and accused of grabbing a woman around the neck and shoving her to the ground at a nightclub.

Morgantown police say when officers arrived early Sunday at Lux Nightclub, a crying woman said she was assaulted.

Police obtained a warrant for a battery charge and arrested Worley on Wednesday.

Detectives used surveillance video and interviewed the woman and witnesses.

Monday, Coach Dana Holgorsen announced the sophomore faced an indefinite suspension for violating team rules. He didn’t elaborate.

Worley has started every 2014 game for West Virginia (2-1), which hosts No. 4 Oklahoma (3-0) in their Big 12 opener Saturday night.

WVU spokesman John Bolt says the school can’t comment on Worley’s specific case, but it may open an investigation after police conclude theirs.
