Bentworth rallies to beat Avella in fourth quarter

Felix Hernandez had 140 yards rushing and four touchdowns – including three in the fourth quarter – on just 13 carries as Bentworth scored 21 unanswered points to end the game and stun Avella, 42-26, in a Tri-County South game Friday night.

Nick Kusich rushed for 153 yards on 21 carries for the Eagles (2-2, 2-2) and scored three touchdowns, the last of which gave the Eagles a 26-21 lead with just over 10 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

But Hernandez scored on runs of 10, 42 and 21 in the final 7:38 for the Bearcats (2-2. 2-2).

Angelo Rios-Lopez had a strong game for Bentworth as well, completing 22 of 35 passes for 342 yards and two touchdowns as Bentworth rolled up 540 yards of total offense.

Santino Paris completed 9 of 26 passes for 129 yards and rushed for a touchdowns for the Eagles.
