Arizona signs two Wild Things’ pitchers
Washington Wild Things pitchers Troy Marks and Al Yevoli have had their contracts purchased by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Marks, who signed with the Wild Things as a free agent July 23, was 5-1 with a 2.45 ERA in 47 2/3 innings of eight starts. Marks threw 7 1/3 scoreless innings against River City in the Frontier League Divisional Series but got a no-decision.
Text Normal: Yevoli had a strong season as a setup man from the bullpen. He was 4-5 with a 2.92 ERA in 48 appearances. The latter number was a club record. Last year, Yevoli was signed by the Chicago Cubs and pitched for the Kane County Cougars of the Midwest League. He was in spring training with the Atlanta Braves in 2012.
