Burgettstown falls to Ellwood City in non-conference game

Nick Ioanilli rushed for 212 yards and five touchdowns on 20 carries as Ellwood City defeated visiting Burgettstown 40-13 Friday in a non-conference game.

Ioanilli scored on runs of 39, 15 and eight yards to give Ellwood City (3-2) a 21-0 lead at halftime, then scored on runs of 46 and five yards in the second half.

Burgettstown (1-4) pulled to within 21-7 in the third quarter when Brandon Sell hauled in a 23-yard touchdown pass from Brad McLaughlin.

Norma Ballard scored on a nine-yard run in the fourth quarter for EC, before the Blue Devils’ Brandon Krynak picked up a fumble and rambled 93 yards for the final touchdown of the game.
